A Mother's Day flower, in your own words

Many of us find it harder to write to our mothers than to anyone else. Not because there is nothing to say, but because there is too much, and a card from the supermarket says none of it.

A flower with a message gives you a small space to fill: a few lines and your name. Thank her for something specific, remind her of a day you both remember, or simply tell her you are thinking of her. She opens the link on her phone, the flower blooms, and your words are there underneath.

It suits the years when you cannot be there: when you live abroad, when the visit is planned for the weekend after, or when Mother's Day falls on a different date where you live and where she lives. In the UK it comes in March, in the US and much of Europe in May. You send the link on whichever day is hers.

Which flower

We suggest a soft pink rose: tender rather than romantic. If she has a favourite flower, choose that one instead. Tulips, daisies and orchids are on the same list, each in several colours.
